2020 Skoda Superb facelift debuts with hybrid power
- The facelifted Skoda Superb is now official and it comes with updated looks, more features, and for the first time, a PHEV variant.
- The 2020 Superb PHEV combines a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine developing 154 bhp with an electric motor which makes 114 bhp. Therefore, the combined output here stands at 215 bhp and 400 Nm.
- The PHEV model has its charging port hidden in its grille. It is capable of running 55 km on pure electric power, and combined with the petrol engine, gives a claimed range of up to 850 km.
- The regular petrol and diesel options are carried over from the pre-facelift Superb with a new 186 bhp turbo petrol being added to the mix. We expect the India-spec Superb facelift to continue using the 1.8-litre and 2.0-litre engines from the current model.
- Aesthetically, the car now gets a new grille, updated bumpers, LED Matrix headlights (optional) and the new ‘S K O D A’ branding at the rear instead of the logo.
