2021 BMW 5-Series facelift launched in India
The BMW 5-Series facelift has been launched in India at a price tag of Rs 62.90-71.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
Three engines are on offer. First up, there’s the turbo petrol 530i which uses a 2-litre, 4-cylinder engine that generates 252hp and 350Nm.
Then, there are two diesels. The 520d has a 2-litre, 4-cylinder diesel with 190hp/400Nm, and finally, the 530d with a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder diesel with 265hp and an impressive 620Nm of torque.
All three versions use an 8-speed automatic transmission which feeds power to the rear wheels.
The luxury saloon also features an Adaptive Suspension with its individual electronically controlled dampers for better handling. The damper response settings change according to the mode selected – Comfort, Sport, Eco Pro and Adaptive. M Sport variants offer an extra Sport+ mode as well.
Aesthetically, the 2021 BMW 5-Series facelift comes with minor updates such as a new grille, updated LED signatures, tweaked bumpers and new trapezoidal tailpipes.
On the inside, the 5 Series gets an updated iDrive infotainment system with a new 10.25-inch touchscreen display that’s finally compatible with Android Auto.
Competition of the 2021 BMW 5 Series facelift in India includes Mercedes E-Class LWB, Jaguar XF, Audi A6, Volvo S90 and Lexus ES.
