2021 BMW M5 Competition launched in India
The 2021 BMW M5 Competition has been launched in India at Rs 1.62 crore (ex-showroom). It is based on the facelifted 5 Series which launched a few days ago.
The real beast lies under the M5’s bonnet – a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine that pumps out 625 horsepower and 750 Nm of peak torque. It features the M xDrive AWD system as well (with a 2-wheel drive setting).
Thanks to all these specifications, this super saloon can dismiss the 0-100 km/h sprint in just 3.3 seconds and is capable of achieving a top speed of 304 km/h.
The 2021 M5 Competition facelift also gains new shock absorbers which are borrowed from the M8 Gran Coupe. Consequently, the car can handle better at the limit.
The visual changes on the 2021 model are subtle and are limited to a revised grille, new headlamps and restyled bumpers. Its new central air dam now also incorporates the Active Cruise Control system sensor.
