2021 BMW S1000R launched in India
The 2021 BMW S1000R has been launched in India at Rs 17.90-22.50 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered in 3 variants – Standard, Pro and M Sport.
Gone is the distinctive asymmetrical face of the older generation model, and instead, the 2021 S1000R looks much tamer (and generic) with its new G310R-inspired front-end.
Powering this litre-class super naked is a 999cc inline-four motor that generates 165hp of power and 114Nm of torque which makes it the least powerful among its segment. However, it is 5kg lighter than its predecessor thanks to a new chassis.
On the safety front, the superbike comes with Dynamic Traction Control, Dynamic Brake Control, ABS Pro with banking angle optimization and a fully configurable Dynamic Pro riding mode with settings that enable features like Engine Drag Torque Control.
Competition of the 2021 S1000R in India includes the Kawasaki Z H2 and Ducati Streetfighter V4.
