2021 Geneva Motor Show cancelled
- The ongoing pandemic was the reason behind the cancellation of this year’s Geneva Motor Show, and now, the show’s organisers have confirmed that the next year’s event has been cancelled as well!
- This decision is made keeping in mind all the heavy losses suffered by the organises because of this year’s cancellation, as well as the unwillingness of auto manufactures to participate in 2021 Geneva Motor Show.
- An official statement said, “A majority of exhibitors who took part in a survey, stated that they would probably not participate in a 2021 edition in and that they would prefer to have a GIMS in 2022. The automotive sector is currently going through a difficult phase, and exhibitors need time to recover from the effects of the pandemic. Furthermore, it is far from certain that the current health situation would permit the organisation of an event attracting more than 600,000 visitors and 10,000 journalists next spring.”
- Just last week, EICMA 2020 – which was to be held in November this year – was also cancelled because of the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.
