2021 Merc S-Class India launch on June 17
Holding on to the ‘best car in the world’ title isn’t particularly easy, but the S-Class has gracefully done it anyway for quite some time. Now, our desi millionaires can rejoice since the 2021 model’s India launch will take place on June 17.
The ‘First Edition’ models to be sold initially will be fully imported to India. However, the local assembly of this limousine is also on cards at a later date.
As always, the 2021 Mercedes S-Class will be only available in India in its long-wheelbase avatar. Two 6-cylinder engines will be on offer – a diesel with 326hp/700Nm and a turbo petrol with 362hp/500Nm. Both engines will be mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
The Launch Editions of the 2021 S-Class will sport AMG Line trim which gets an aggressive bumper and sportier alloy wheels.
Expected goodies on the inside include massaging seats, Burmester 4D surround sound system, Mercedes’ new MBUX system with feature facial, voice & fingerprint recognition, and interestingly, airbags for rear passengers.
