2021 Skoda Octavia launched in India
The 2021 Skoda Octavia has been launched in India in two variants. The lower Style variant costs Rs 25.99 lakh and the top-end L&K variant costs Rs 28.99 lakh, both ex-showroom, pan-India.
Now in its fourth generation, the 2021 Octavia marks a steep increase in its price tag. For comparison, the third generation model, which was discontinued in April 2020, was priced between Rs 15.49-23.60 lakh.
Based on VW Group’s new global MQB Evo platform, the new Octavia is larger than its predecessor. It measures 4,689mm in length, 1,829mm in width and 1,469mm in height.
Only one engine option is offered on this premium sedan, which is a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol that generates 187bhp of max power and 320Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to a 7-speed DSG auto transmission and there is no manual gearbox on offer.
Also, the diesel engine is no longer offered. However, a less-powerful 1.5-litre turbo petrol unit that makes 148bhp/250Nm might be launched on the Octavia at a later stage.
The minimalist new cabin of the 2021 Skoda Octavia features improved materials and a lot of equipment such as electronically adjustable front seats with memory function, a 10-inch floating infotainment display, driver’s virtual cockpit, suede leather upholstery and much more. Funnily enough, a sunroof is absent from both variants.
