2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee fully revealed
The next-generation 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV has been fully revealed by Stellantis. It will be sold in two body styles – Grand Cherokee (5-seater) and Grand Cherokee L (7-seater). The latter was digitally revealed three months back.
2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee design
The SUV is 294mm shorter than the Grand Cherokee L, and it shares nearly everything with the latter save for a few body panels and one less row of seats. Both versions appear to be very identical at first glance, but closer inspection reveals a number of stylistic variations, similar to those found on the 2-row Compass and the recently announced 3-row Commander (Meridian for India).
The back of the new SUV looks a little sportier, contrasting to a more upright aspect for the 3-row version, which is comparable to the Compass and Meridian. Certain design components, including active grille shutters, air curtains, and revised rear pillars, are included here to improve aerodynamic efficiency.
2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee interior
The inside is extremely contemporary with a unique 10.1-inch screen built in the dashboard that is devoted to the front passenger. A 10.1-inch central infotainment screen and a digital instrument cluster of the same size are also available. A 10-inch head-up display, a wireless smartphone charging pad, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto compatibility, as well as back seat entertainment displays, are among the other features.
2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee engine & gearbox
A 290hp 3.6-liter V6 petrol engine will kick things off, and it’s been seen in the previous Grand Cherokee as well as vehicles like the Wrangler. The next engine will be a 357 horsepower, 5.7-liter Hemi V8, which will also be found in other Jeep models throughout the world. Both engines are paired with 8-speed automatic transmission.
In addition, like the Wrangler and a few other Jeeps, the 2022 Grand Cherokee now incorporates Jeep’s 4xe technology. This version is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine with twin electric motors and a lithium-ion battery, producing 375 horsepower and 637Nm of peak torque.
A 400V 17kWh battery powers the plug-in hybrid engine, which may give a 40km electric-only range or a total driving range of 712km. There are three driving modes to assist you to manage your energy use.

2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee India launch date
The premium SUV is expected to be locally assembled which will bring its price down when compared to the exorbitant amount which the previous-gen model asked for. It will likely be launched in India by the end of 2022. The Jeep Meridian launch is currently Stellantis’ priority in India and we should see it happen in the first half of next year.
