2022 Lexus NX launched in India

The 2022 Lexus NX maintains the overall profile of the previous-generation vehicle, albeit Lexus has given it a more angular appearance this time around.

Single-piece headlights (instead of split units), a wider version of the company’s spindle grille, redesigned bumpers, a longer hood, and all-new LED taillamps joined by a light bar are among the new design features.

The inside of the Lexus NX has also been updated. The previous SUV’s 10.3-inch infotainment screen has been replaced by a 9.0-inch touchscreen (or a 14-inch unit, depending on the variant).

Much of the switchgear in the centre console has been removed, including the touchpad from earlier. A redesigned steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster are also included in the package.

The top-spec 2022 Lexus NX F-Sport includes a 360-degree parking camera, automatic headlamps and wipers, a colour HUD, a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, wireless mobile charging, 64-colour ambient lighting, an electric front seat, and electrically folding rear seats.

On the safety front, it has ABS, EBD, ESC, traction control, front and rear parking sensors, and much more on the safety front.

The sole NX 350h variant on offer has a 2.5-litre Atkinson cycle engine that produces 192 horsepower. The gasoline engine is linked to e-motors on the front and rear axles, giving the SUV a total output of 244 horsepower in all-wheel-drive mode.

A 6-step e-CVT gearbox transmits the power to the wheels. A front-wheel-drive version of the 350h is also available outside of the United States.

In India, the previous NX was available in the 300h trim, which included a 155hp 2.5-litre petrol engine linked to a 143hp electric motor for a total output of 197hp. A 6-step e-CVT transmission was used.

The 2022 NX 350h competes against the Audi Q5, BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and Volvo XC60.

2022 Lexus NX price in India

Three variants are on offer – Exquisite (Rs 64.90 lakh), Luxury (Rs 69.50 lakh) and F-Sport (Rs 71.60 lakh). All prices are ex-showroom.
