Apple AirPods updated with wireless charging, Hey Siri hotword support
- The new Apple AirPods have officially been revealed, and while they look exactly the same as the first-gen earphones, many enhancements have been made under the skin.
- The wireless earphones now come with Apple’s new H1 chip which is claimed to deliver more efficient performance, twice faster connect times, 50 per cent better talk time and hands-free Siri usage via the “Hey Siri” hotword.
- The second-gen model comes with either a standard charging case or a new Qi-compatible wireless charging case, with both holding an additional 24-hour charge for the AirPods.
- The new wireless charging case is also sold separately. Therefore, existing owners can also upgrade their first-gen AirPods with wireless charging.
- In India, the second-gen Airpods will cost Rs 14,900 (standard charging) and Rs 18,900 (wireless charging). The standalone wireless charging case will be sold for Rs 7,500.
