Aprilia RS 660, Tuono 660 launched in India
Italian superbike maker Aprilia has launched two new middleweight motorcycles in India. The RS 660 price in India is set at Rs 13.39 lakh and the Tuono 660 price in India is set at Rs 13.09 lakh, both ex-showroom.
Definitely, these prices are on the higher side for 660cc bikes, however, Aprilia’s positioning in India has always been more premium than other mainstream superbike brands like Kawasaki, Honda, Yamaha, Benelli, and Triumph.
The Aprilia RS 660 is a supersport that’s powered by a 659cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin motor that generates 98.6bhp and 67Nm.
It offers a 41 mm inverted Kayaba fork up front that’s adjustable for rebound, compression and spring pre-load. The fork also has a 120mm travel. At the back, you get a monoshock that’s adjustable for rebound and pre-load.
Braking duties on the RS 660 are handled by 320mm double front discs with 4-piston Brembo radial calipers, and 220mm rear disc with 2-piston Brembo caliper.
The Aprilia Tuono 660 is a unique streetfighter that features a half fairing, however, it does not get clip-on handlebars which makes its riding posture much more relaxed. It is powered by the same engine but puts out a lesser 93.7bhp and 67Nm.
Most other aspects of this bike are shared with the RS, however, it only has adjustability for extension and pre-load, while the front wheel travel is limited to 110mm.
