Asus ROG Phone 5s, 5s Pro official with 360Hz touch sampling rate
Asus has updated its gaming phone lineup with the reveal of the new ROG Phone 5s and ROG Phone 5s Pro.
Both phones get the latest Snapdragon 888 Plus Soc from Qualcomm with 8/12/16GB of RAM and 128/256GB of standard storage on the standard and 18GB/512GB on the Pro model.
The display on the ROG Phone 5s remains a 6.78-inch Super AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution, HDR10+ certification, and 144Hz refresh rate. However, the touch sampling rate has gone up from 300Hz on the ROG Phone 5 to 360Hz here, which means it now has the world’s lowest touch latency of just 24ms!
Most other things are carried over from the ROG Phone 5. So, there’s a huge 6,000mAh battery here with 65W wired fast charging, a dedicated side-mounted connector with various ports, and 64MP main + 13MP ultra-wide + 5MP macro rear cameras.
The ROG Phone 5s Pro also comes bundled with an ‘Aero Active Cooler’, which is basically an external fan to keep temperatures in check while gaming. This version also gets a secondary rear-mounted colour OLED display.
