Audi e-Tron electric SUV India launch on July 22
With Mercedes already launching the EQC, Jaguar the I-Pace, and Tesla opening its shop soon, Audi has also decided to launch its first all-electric car in India on July 22.
The Audi e-Tron is roughly a Q5-sized SUV that sits atop the Volkswagen Group’s MEB architecture which will be shared among many other premium vehicles within the group over the coming years.
The India-spec model is rumoured to be offered in just one spec – 55 quattro. It has a liquid-cooled 95kWh lithium-ion battery that powers two electric motors, one on each axle. The combined output is 360 horsepower equivalent and 561Nm of torque.
If that’s not enough, the available boost function increases those numbers to 408hp and 664Nm!
The claimed range of the Audi e-Tron is up to 436km on a single charge on the European WLTP cycle. The SUV can be fast-charged from 0-80% in just 30 minutes using the 150kWh fast charge option. Audi India is expected to set up the chargers in owner’s houses, however, these may be the much-slower 11kWh units.
