Best-selling mid-size SUVs in November 2021
The Hyundai Creta continue to rule the mid-size SUV segment in India with 10,300 units being sold last month. It first came to India in 2015, and since then, it has made a big impression in the market. Despite this segment heating up enormously this year, the Creta remained on top.
Its cousin, the Kia Seltos sold 8,959 units in India in November, down 5.9 percent from the same time last year. The Mahindra Scorpio came in third with 3,370 units sold, down from 3,725 units in November 2020, with a drop in sales of 9.5 percent over the same time last year.
The all-new 2022 Mahindra Scorpio is expected to go on sale sometime next year, and you can read all about it here. It could be as popular as the new Thar and XUV700 because of the nameplate’s popularity, so it could be a big hit. The XUV700 was the fourth most popular mid-size SUV in the country last month, with 3,207 units sold.
The VW Taigun is a mid-size SUV that was released by Volkswagen a few months ago as part of the India 2.0 project. It is based on the MQB A0 IN platform, which has been heavily customised for India. A 1.0-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre engine are used to power it, just like the Skoda Kushaq, which sold 2,849 units in November 2021.
At the end of November 2020, Tata Motors’s Harrier sold 2,607 units, up 18 percent from November 2020, when 2,210 units were sold. The Hyundai Alcazar came in seventh with 2,453 units, ahead of the Skoda Kushaq, the Tata Safari, and the MG Hector.
It looks like the Hector, along with the Hector Plus, is facing quite some heat from new rivals as both versions of the SUV sold only 1,210 units in November.
