BS6 Vespa VXL 149, SXL 149 launched
- Piaggio has launched the new BS6-compliant Vespa VXL 149 and Vespa SXL 149 in India at Rs 1.22 lakh and Rs 1.26 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.
- Repacing the Vespa 150 range, the Vespa 149 comes with a brand new 149 cc, fuel-injected, 3-valve engine which generates 10.46 PS of power and 10.6 Nm of torque. In comparison, the older engine produced 10.06 PS and 10.9 Nm.
- Other than the new engine, the Vespa 149 range remains identical to its predecessor, you get a monocoque full-steel construction, single sidearm front suspension, 200 mm ventilated front disc brake with ABS, and 140 mm rear drum brake.
- The Vespa remains a retro-themed premium scooter. The VXL 149 gets a circular headlamp while the SXL 149 offers a rectangular front light.
