BYD E6 electric MPV launched in India
The BYD E6 electric MPV has been launched in India. In case you don’t know, BYD is a Chinese car brand that was present at the 2020 Auto Expo and has had intentions of launching in India for quite some time.
The E6 is initially targeted towards the B2B market. It will be sold in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Ahmedabad, Kochi, and Chennai. BYD has been testing their electric MPV in India for quite some time, and it has now made its formal debut on our soil.

It is priced at Rs 29.60 lakh (ex-showroom) and it comes with a 7kW charger.
BYD E6 range, battery and charging
The E6 is driven by a 70kW (approx. 94bhp) electric motor that produces 180Nm of torque and is equipped with a 71.7kWh battery pack. The MPV has a peak speed of 130 km/h and a city-only range of 520km and a combined range of 415km.
It supports both AC and DC fast charging, according to BYD. The MPV can be charged from 30-80 percent in 35 minutes using the latter (claimed). The time it takes to charge with an AC adapter has not been revealed.
BYD E6 features
The E6 is a five-seater electric MPV. The MPV has projector headlights, LED daytime running lights, and LED taillights. It is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels. Crystal white, doctor black, blue with dual-tone black roof, and green are some of the hues offered for the MPV.
The dashboard is straightforwardly put out. The interiors have a monochromatic black motif. The 10.1-inch touchscreen, which is compatible with Android Auto, takes centre stage. Instead of a traditional lever, it has a rotary knob for choosing the gears. Push-button start/stop, steering-wheel-mounted radio controls, multi-info display, electronic parking brake, reverse parking camera, automated climate control, and an electric tailgate are just a few of the features.
On the safety front, it has four airbags, anti-lock brakes, traction control, hill-start assist, rear parking sensors, and a tyre pressure monitoring system as standard.
