Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch launched in India

The Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch has been officially launched in India.

The Gen 6 will come preloaded with Google’s Wear OS 2 software, but Fossil promises that it will be upgradeable to the new Wear OS 3 software in 2022.

Fossil Gen 6 price in India

In India, the Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch costs between Rs 23,995 and Rs 24,995. for the 42mm dial version and the 44mm dial version, respectively.

Starting September 27, the smartwatch will be available for purchase on Fossil’s official website, Amazon, and at select retail shops.

Starting September 25, buyers may pre-order this smartwatch on the official website. It will be available in four different colour combinations for the 44mm dial and three different colour combinations for the 42mm dial.

Fossil Gen 6 specifications

It has a circular dial in two sizes, 42mm and 44mm, with the same 1.28-inch (416×416 pixels) colour AMOLED touchscreen with a 326ppi pixel density.

As previously said, it currently runs Wear OS 2, however, Fossil has stated that it will be upgradeable to Wear OS 3 in 2022. It has a Snapdragon Wear 4100+ SoC with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage under the hood. The CPU is said to be 30 percent quicker than its predecessor, the Fossil Gen 5, with lower power consumption and faster app loading.

Users may also customise the functionalities of the buttons and dials on the Gen 6. The smartwatch comes in seven different designs and has replaceable bands.

This is a smartwatch that has health monitoring capabilities such as an updated heart rate monitoring sensor and a new blood oxygen monitoring (SpO2) sensor. Accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, altimeter, off-body IR, and ambient light sensor are among the other onboard sensors.

Bluetooth v5 LE, Wi-Fi, GPS, and NFC SE are among the connectivity choices for the Fossil Gen 6. It can receive and make calls when linked to a smartphone and is compatible with both Android and iOS devices.

The smartwatch is also 3ATM water-resistant (30 metres).

The Gen 6 supports Spotify’s Wear OS update, which allows users to download songs and podcasts on their smartwatches.

Fossil Gen 6 battery life

The smartwatch is charged through a four-pin USB connection with a magnetic puck for fast charging.

It is touted to have a battery life of more than 24 hours or multiple days when used in the Extended Battery Mode. The smartwatch can also be charged up to 80 percent in around half an hour, according to Fossil.
