Honda CB200X adventure tourer launched in India
The new 2021 Honda CB200X has been launched in India at Rs 1.44 lakh (ex-showroom). It is based on the popular Hornet 2.0, but is Rs 14,000 more expensive than the latter.
The CB200X is more of a road biased adventure tourer as there isn’t much kit here to make it off-road focused. It gets a CB500X inspired half fairing, knuckle guards, upgraded tyres, and a belly pan, but not much else.
The bike also uses a USD front fork, but since Honda has not revealed any details about it, it is more or less obvious that its suspension travel is the same as that of the Hornet 2.0.
Also same is the 184.4cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that churns out 17.3 horsepower and 16.1Nm of max torque. It comes paired to a 5-speed transmission. The bike is 5 kilos heavier than the Hornet.
The 2021 Honda CB200X also has to do with a single-channel ABS which is quite disappointing for the price.
In terms of rivals, the Hero XPulse 200 carries a better off-road kit and a much lower price of Rs 1.21 lakh. On the other hand, Royal Enfield is expected to soon launch its road biased Scram, but that may be priced around Rs 1.90 lakh.
