Honda PCX Electric scooter may launch in India
- At a recent dealer’s meet in India, Honda showcased the PCX Electric scooter (see image below), which signifies that the company is contemplating its domestic launch.
- The PCX Electric has a maxi-scooter design with LED lights, blue accents (quite common for EVs), LCD instrument cluster, and plenty of premium features such as passive keyless unlock and start/ stop, etc.
- The scooter is powered by two Lithium-ion power packs which are connected in series and generate a system output of 4.2 kW. These power packs can be removed from the scooter and be recharged in about 4 hours per pack.
- It is possible that Honda will do a feasibility study by showcasing this electric scooter at the upcoming Auto Expo 2020. However, thanks to India’s limited EV infrastructure, don’t expect it to launch in India anytime before 2021 if it launches here at all.
