How to enable messages by category in Google Messages
Numerous new phones now ship with Google Messages as the default messaging software on Android, and its robust feature set and simple user interface make it an excellent choice for a wider audience.
Google is constantly experimenting with new ways to improve the app’s use and has been testing a feature that automatically categorises your messages to make it simpler to find exactly what you’re searching for more quickly.
As with email, our message inboxes can become inundated with messages from dozens of senders on a daily basis. The problem is that many of the messages include valid and valuable information that we do not want to miss.
To make it simpler to discover exactly what you’re looking for and, more significantly, to filter out what you’re not, Google has begun rolling out its messages by category feature to the Google Messages app.
This function has been in development for some time, initially in India, but has lately begun to roll out to users in more areas.
Since Google Messages is now also adding support for certain iMessage features, it will soon be regarded as one of the best Android messaging apps.
Anyway, inside the app, you may have noticed three categories at the top of your chat window: All, Personal, and Business. You may view another categorically focused inbox with a single swipe.
How to enable messages by category in Google Messages
- Open Google Messages.
- To access settings, click the three dots in the top right corner of the app.
- Locate the Message Organisation option.
- You can now activate message grouping or change your preferred view from here.
However, not everyone wants this additional layer of complexity, and Google has made it simple to disable this function if it is not to your liking. If you choose to deactivate it, you may find the option to disable the functionality in the very same spot.
