Hyundai Casper micro SUV revealed; India launch in 2022
The Hyundai Casper micro SUV has been revealed globally. When launched in India next year, it will be positioned in between the i10 Nios and i20.
Aesthetically, the Hyundai Casper is exactly what the recent rise of SUVs has given us – comical looking hatchbacks with loads of plastic cladding and high ground clearance.
It looks like a shrunken down, over-styled Venue from some angles, while its side looks exactly like that of the Maruti Ignis. As funny as it is, Indians will most likely love it. If you have doubts, remember that the S-Presso is selling really well!
It is based on Hyundai’s K1 platform which also underpins the new Santro. The interior of this micro SUV has not been revealed as of now.
Powering the Hyundai Casper will be a 1.0-litre petrol engine in two tunes – 76hp naturally-aspirated and 100hp turbocharged. However, it is not confirmed if the same engine options will also be on offer in India.
When launched, the Casper will directly lock horns with the Maruti Suzuki Ignis and the soon to be launched Tata Punch.
