Hyundai Venue compact SUV revealed
- The much-anticipated Hyundai Venue has been revealed in all its glory. The compact SUV is confirmed to be launched in India on May 21.
- It comes with a bold design which is inspired by bigger Hyundai SUVs sold globally. Most notable design features of the Venue include a chrome mesh cascading grille, eyebrow-type LED front indicators, big wheel arches, a sweeping roofline and lots of character lines.
- The Venue is 3,995 mm long and 1,770 mm wide and has a wheelbase of 2,500 mm. Also worth mentioning is that with a height of just 1,590 mm, it is the lower compact SUV around.
- The Hyundai Venue’s cabin has a smart layout that grants it a clean yet contemporary look. The ‘BlueLink’ infotainment screen takes the centre stage. You can read about BlueLink’s smart AI-based features here.
- Standard features on the top-spec model will include wireless charging, cruise control, cooled glovebox, rear AC vents, sunroof, Arkamys sound system, cornering lamps, LED fog lamps, etc.
- The Venue is the first Hyundai to be offered with a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that generates 118 bhp/ 172 Nm and comes mated to a 6-speed manual or a segment-first 7-speed dual clutch auto gearbox.
- There are two more engines on offer, both of which are shared with the i20. So, there’s a 1.2-litre petrol that makes 82bhp/ 115Nm and a 1.4-litre diesel that generates 89 bhp/ 220 Nm. The former comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the latter gets a 6-speed manual unit.
