Iconic Lamborghini Countach to be revived as a hybrid supercar
The Lamborghini Countach, one of the most celebrated supercars to come out of Italy, will soon make a comeback. In fact, the new model has been officially teased as well.
The only thing that the teaser confirms is the silhouette of the new model, which, just like the original Countach, boasts of a ‘wedge-shaped’ design. Enough to get enthusiasts pumped, I guess.
However, do not expect this new version to feature pure V12 power like its predecessor from the 70s. This new version will use a hybrid engine from the Sián hypercar, which combines a 6.5-litre V12 with a supercapacitor. Better than pure V12? Maybe.
This powertrain generates over 800 horsepower in the Sián, so expect the new Countach to be no slouch!
In related news, in 2023, the Aventador’s successor will arrive with a V12 plug-in hybrid powertrain to be Lamborghini’s new flagship model.
