iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max: Key features, price in India
With a faster GPU, better camera hardware, and, most significantly, the first ProMotion display on an iPhone, the new Pro models in the iPhone family leapfrog their vanilla siblings by quite a bit.
iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max display
Apple’s term for a high refresh rate display is “ProMotion.” It may go as low as 10Hz and as high as 120Hz on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. iOS has been redesigned to take full advantage of the new display.
The display sizes are the same – 6.1-inch iPhone 13 Pro or 6.7-inch Pro Max. The notch that houses the TrueDepth camera has shrunk by 20 percent, and the new panels are up to 25 percent brighter outdoors.
iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max camera
Let’s go on to the camera. Apple maintained the 12MP resolution while improving the lenses, sensors, and picture processing.
The primary camera sensor features a 1.9m pixel size and a brighter aperture of f/1.5. The 12 Pro Max, by comparison, featured 1.7m pixels and an f/1.6 lens. This means that the new model can collect up to 2.2x more light in low light.

The telephoto camera includes a new 77mm f/2.8 lens, which provides 3x optical magnification over the primary camera. This is a step up from the 65 mm/2.5x lens, but with an f/2.4 aperture.
The ultrawide camera comes next, and it also features a superior lens — a 6-element f/1.8 lens with autofocus, to be exact. This is in comparison to the f/2.4 lens on last year’s Pros, which allows up to 92 percent more light to reach the sensor.
There’s also a new trick: the focusing allows the ultrawide module to function as a macro camera. Night mode is supported by all cameras on the Pro models, including the telephoto lens.
In addition, the new A15 Bionic chipset has hardware support for ProRes video, Apple’s professional video codec. The Pros can record in 4K at 30 frames per second and edit ProRes footage directly on the phone. Dolby Vision HDR is also supported at up to 4K 60 frames per second.
The iPhone 13 Pros also capture a depth map with the video, allowing you to alter the depth of focus even after the video has been recorded. Photographic Styles is another new tool that automatically changes a photo, one element at a time. This will also be enabled on vanilla 13 models in the future.
iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max chipset
The new A15 Bionic chipset contains 15 billion transistors (the A14 had 11.8 billion). It is manufactured using a 5nm technology, although Apple did not provide any other details. The chipset retains the 2+4 CPU layout with two large cores.
The GPU now has 5 cores, giving it an advantage over the vanilla iPhone 13 series, which employ a GPU with 4 cores. The Neural Engine has also been improved, now delivering 15.8 TOPS.
iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max battery life
Battery life has been increased as a result of a combination of a more efficient screen, a more efficient processor, a larger battery, and iOS improvements. An iPhone 13 Pro will last 1.5 hours longer on a single charge than an iPhone 12 Pro, and the 13 Pro Max will last 2.5 hours longer than the 12 Pro Max.
Charging speeds remain the same as before.
