Kawasaki Z650RS to be revealed by end-2021
It appears that Kawasaki is now working on a neo-retro middle-weight superbike which will allegedly be called Z650RS.
Similar to the Kawasaki Z900RS (pictured above), the upcoming Kawasaki Z650RS will be based on the same concept as the latter. Essentially, it will be a reskinned Z650 with a modern-classic design.
As the bike will be based on Kawasaki’s best-selling Z650, we’re going to see the same 649cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor with a six-speed transmission. The engine will produce 67bhp and 64Nm of torque.
According to leaks, the new RS will have a kerb weight of 187kg, which is 4kg less than the standard bike. The wheelbase of the new Z650RS is said to be 5mm shorter than that of the Kawasaki Z650.
Kawasaki Z650RS launch date, expected price
The Kawasaki Z650RS is anticipated to make its global debut in the fourth quarter of 2021.
The bike will be positioned in India between the affordable Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the more costly Triumph Trident. It is expected to launch at around Rs 6 lakh in India
Kawasaki’s middle-weight motorcycle lineup is quite robust in India, thanks to which, the company is a strong superbike seller. You already have the Ninja 650, Vulcan S, Z650, and Versys 650, and now the Z650RS will only make its product portfolio stronger.
