Kia Sonet Anniversary Edition launched in India
In India, Kia has released the limited-edition Sonet Anniversary Edition to commemorate the compact SUV’s one-year anniversary.
Sonet Anniversary Edition price in India
It begins at Rs 10.79 lakh and rises to Rs 11.89 lakh (ex-showroom) — a difference of almost Rs 40,000 as compared to the HTX variant on which this edition is based.
Sonet Anniversary Edition features
Only aesthetic changes have been made to this model. The beefier appearing skid plates on the front and rear bumpers, as well as new skid plates down the sides, are the most noticeable changes. Tangerine highlights on the bumpers, around the doors, and on the centre wheel caps complete the look.
A redesigned grille with additional orange highlights and an Anniversary Edition logo is also included on the Sonet Anniversary Edition.

The equipment list remains unaltered from the standard Sonet HTX. That means options like automatic LED headlights, a single-pane sunroof, keyless enter and go, remote engine start, an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, driving modes (auto only), automatic temperature control, cruise control, and more are included.
Dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and camera, ESC, hill-start assist, and traction control are some of the safety features on offer.
Sonet Anniversary Edition engine & gearbox
It has the same two engine options as the standard HTX variant: a 1.0-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine generates 120 horsepower and 172Nm of torque and is available with a 6-speed iMT or 7-speed DCT transmission.
With a 6-speed manual transmission, the 1.5-litre diesel engine generates 100hp and 240Nm of peak torque. When coupled with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, the same engine generates 115hp and 250Nm.
