KTM RC 8C track-only superbike unleashed
If you were expecting a higher capacity supersport from KTM under its RC lineup, then there’s good news, kinda. The new RC 8C is now official, but it’s a track-only superbike.
Its exclusivity doesn’t end here. Ktm is selling only 100 units of the RC 8C worldwide and there is no information on its India availability as yet.
Now that you know you cannot buy this, let’s talk specs. The engine here is the 890 Duke derived 899cc, LC8c parallel-twin producing 128bhp of power and 101Nm of torque. With just 140kg dry weight, the power-to-weight ratio here is pretty awesome.
The 2022 KTM RC 8C is built around a custom handmade steel tubular frame that’s inspired by the KTM RC16. Kevlar-reinforced GRP, similar to MotoGP race bikes, is used to make its fairing. Carbon winglets also come standard.
The KTM RC 8C uses a WP Apex Pro upside-down front fork and a mono-shock at the rear with full compression and rebound adjustability.
Braking is taken care of by the MotoGP-derived Brembo system where the rider can choose between three braking modes – Normal, Sport and Race. Tyres on this supersport consist of the Pirelli SC1 racing slicks.
