Kushaq vs Taigun: Specifications comparison and differences
Both Skoda Kushaq and VW Taigun are sister cars that are based on Volkswagen Group’s brand new made-for-India MQB A0 IN platform.
There are more similarities between this duo than differences, but, if you want to buy one of these solidly built small SUVs, which one is better for you? Time to find out!
Kushaq vs Taigun: Design
The two SUVs seem very different from the front and the rear. With its butterfly grille and LED lighting, the Kushaq has a more toned-down and sophisticated appearance.
The square-shaped LED lights on the Taigun, on the other hand, give it a butcher appearance. The Taigun also has a lot of chrome, which is clearly noticeable.
Both appear to be more or less similar from the side, just like the Rapid and Vento sedans. The alloy wheels are the only distinguishing feature between these two.
The Taigun triumphs against the Kushaq at the back end with its thick LED strip that runs across its tailgate. The Skoda, on the other hand, looks more genric.
Kushaq vs Taigun: Interior
The inside is where the changes are most noticeable. On the inside, the Kushaq retains its toned-down look which will appeal to a wider audience. It has a two-spoke steering wheel, a floating infotainment unit, and wood accents in the interior. The colours are more neutral, making the cabin appear more spacious and airy than the Taigun.
The inside of the Taigun has a flat-bottomed three-spoke steering wheel and an integrated entertainment system on the upper half of the dashboard. It also comes with contrasting dashboard colours on certain variants which youngsters will find really appealing.
Kushaq vs Taigun: Features
Both of these SUVs have a plethora of features. They get a 10.1-inch touchscreen, cruise control, a sunroof, touch-based temperature control, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rear AC vents, etc.
But, the main distinction is that the Taigun gets a fully digital driver’s display on its top-end variant but the Kushaq does not get it.
On the safety front, both SUVs are equipped with six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, hill-hold control, tyre pressure deflation warning, a parking camera, and ISOFIX child seat fixings.

But both share the same set of turbo petrol engines – a 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine with 115hp and 175Nm of torque, and a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 150hp and 250Nm of torque.
Both engines come equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission. They do, however, have differing automatic transmission choices, with the 1.0 receiving a 6-speed torque converter and the 1.5 TSI receiving a DSG.
The 1.5 also has cylinder deactivation technology on both cars.
