Lenovo launches foldable display laptop at CES 2020
- The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold is the world’s first foldable display laptop and it will be available to buy later this year starting at $2,499. It has been publicly revealed at CES 2020
- The 13.3-inch pOLED foldable display of the ThinkPad X1 Fold is sourced from LG. It has a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels and it folds inwards like a book thanks to the proprietary mechanical hinge. that enables the foldable form factor.
- The purpose of such a device is mainly portability. When unfolded 90-degrees, the virtual keyboard pops up on the lower section while the top section acts as the primary display. For those wanting to utilise the entire screen real estate, the device has an in-built kickstand, so that it can be used wirelessly.
- The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold will run on Windows 10 Pro, with a Windows 10X version also on cards. However, Lenovo hasn’t revealed the processor options yet. The company does claim a battery life of up to 11 hours.
