MG Astor features detailed
The upcoming MG Astor is expected to be launched in India in October 2021. It is the petrol-powered version of the MG ZS EV that’s already on sale in the country.
A few facts regarding the upcoming mid-size SUV have been disclosed by MG. All versions of this SUV will come with a 10.1-inch infotainment screen as standard equipment. Apple Carplay, Android Auto, smartphone mirroring, and Jio Saavan will all be standard features, according to the company.
Personal AI help will be a first-in-segment feature in the MG Astor, among other things. The AI may be utilised to use voice commands to access a few functions of the MG Astor.
The MG Astor will also be the first SUV in the category to offer level two automated driving. It will also feature a dedicated AI robot positioned at the top of the dashboard.
The powertrain options have yet to be announced by MG, although the Astor is expected to use Hector’s 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. A CVT auto gearbox may also be available on the MG Astor, along with a 6-speed manual transmission. It is still unknown whether this SUV will be offered with a diesel engine.
MG Astor expected price in India
The full reveal is planned for next month, with an official pricing announcement coming shortly after. The MG Astor may be priced as low as Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom), providing it with a competitive advantage in terms of value for money.
Half a size smaller than the Hector, the Astor will compete with the Skoda Kushaq, Nissan Kicks, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, and the upcoming VW Taigun in India.
