MG Astor sold out for 2021
Bookings for MG India’s newest arrival, the Astor, began today. The initial batch of the Astor has already been sold out for 2021, according to the company. MG also intends to deliver the first 5,000 Astor units before the end of this year.
Beginning November 1, 2021, deliveries of the SUV will be made. While MG has not revealed the exact number of bookings, it has verified that all of the allocated 2021 units were sold out in less than 20 minutes.
It is unknown whether the MG Astor will keep its present pricing or face a price increase. The Astor is priced starting at Rs 9.78 lakh and goes up to Rs 17.38 lakh (ex-showroom).
The small SUV has a segment-first artificial intelligence system as well as Level 2 automated driving technology. The 10.1-inch touchscreen system here has a Jio e-SIM for linked car capabilities. The cabin is especially intriguing because MG has gone to great pains to create a premium and refined atmosphere. There are plenty of soft-touch materials, as well as brushed metal accents that match the interior colour scheme.
Feature-rich top-spec trims include premium features such as steering weight adjustment with driving modes (normal, urban, dynamic), leatherette upholstery, digital driver’s display, and a panoramic sunroof.
A 1.5-litre petrol engine (108bhp and 144Nm) with a six-speed manual or an eight-step shift lock CVT is available. Higher-end models feature a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine with 138bhp and 220Nm and a six-speed automatic transmission. Just like its core rivals, the Skoda Kushaq and the VW Taigun, the MG Astor is not offered with a diesel engine option.
