MG Hector connectivity features detailed
The upcoming MG Hector SUV will sport some segment-first connectivity features at launch. The SUV’s smart AI-based infotainment system, called i-Smart, has been revealed in an event today. These are its key takeaways:
- SIM connectivity: The primary vertically-mounted 10.4-inch infotainment display will be backed by a 5G-ready embedded Airtel SIM card. This will allow the system to update OTA when a new feature is introduced. Then, many useful apps will come pre-loaded including TomTom IQ Maps navigation, Gaana Premium and AccuWeather.
- Voice Assistant: The custom AI-based voice assist on the Hector will be activated via the “Hello MG” hotword and can be used to operate over 100 functions which even include opening/ closing of the windows! MG claims that the assistant is designed to understand the Indian accent better.
- i-Smart app: With this, owners of the Hector will be able to access real-time data like the vehicle location, tyre pressure and use geo-fencing as well. The app will also let users lock/unlock the doors, turn the ignition on and start the AC, schedule a service, etc.
- eCall emergency system: When the airbags are deployed, this system will send messages to Pulse Hub (MG’s customer management system), registered phone numbers, etc. to trigger certain emergency actions.
