MG Hector production begins in India
- Morris Garages, or MG, has rolled off the first unit of the upcoming Hector from its production facility Halol, Gujarat.
- The MG Hector will be the Chinese-owned British brand’s debut vehicle in India and it will be fully revealed on May 15. Its pre-orders are said to begin in June.
- To be priced around in the Hyundai Tucson segment, the Hector is a badge-engineered version of Baojun 530 that’s sold in China, however, MG claims to have made many changes under the skin to make the car more suited to the Indian conditions.
- The MG Hector is expected to be powered by Fiat-sourced engines – 1.5-litre turbo petrol with mild-hybrid system and 2.0-litre diesel.
- MG will also launch the car with its new i-Smart connected infotainment system which will bring a lot of smart and connected features to it. You can read about the i-Smart system in detail here.
