Microsoft Surface Duo 2 official
The new Surface Duo 2 aims to refine a lot of rough edges that the original Surface Duo from last year had. It is still a dual display hybrid smartphone that connects 2 separate screens to form a single-acting bigger display.
Microsoft Surface Duo 2 specifications
The new Surface Duo 2 has twin 5.8-inch AMOLED screens with a resolution of 1892×1344 that combine to make an 8.3-inch display with a resolution of 2688×1892. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protects the display, which can achieve 800 nits of brightness. The bump up to 90Hz refresh rate for better scrolling is a new feature on this device.
There’s a cool new party trick – when the smartphone is folded, the curves of the screens are visible from the outside and these illuminate to show alerts.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 CPU, 128/256/512GB of storage, and 8GB of LPDDR5 memory are all included on this new device. The latest model comes pre-installed with Android 11.
The primary camera setup on the Duo 2 gets a much-need upgrade. It now has a 12MP f/1.7 wide-angle lens, a 12MP f/2.4 2x telephoto lens, and a 16MP f/2.2 ultra-wide lens. You may also capture video at up to 4K 60 frames per second or 1080p 240 frames per second.
The device also works with the new Surface Slim Pen 2, which can be charged by magnetically attaching it to the device’s exterior. The Surface Duo 2’s 4,449mAh battery does not allow wireless charging, but it does come with a 23W USB-C fast charger, which you must purchase separately (sigh!).
Microsoft Surface Duo 2 price
It is priced at USD 1,500 in the US. Since its predecessor was not launched in India, don’t get your hopes too high for this one either. However, since the Duo 2 is now much improved, Microsoft may consider it launching in India to compete with the Z Fold 3.
