Nothing ear (1) are just another pair of TWS earbuds
Former OnePlus co-founder’s Nothing ear (1) TWS Bluetooth earbuds are now official and quite contrary to the hype-building concept that was used for marketing, these are nothing but just another AirPods Pro rip-off, albeit partially transparent.
The Nothing ear (1) price in India has been set at Rs 5,999 and these will be sold exclusively via Flipkart from August 17.
The main talking point of these earbuds is their (semi) transparent aesthetics. The stems of earbuds are transparent, and so is the majority of the charging case. But, the upper half of the earbuds remain white in colour and opaque, so is the part of the charging case that houses the battery.
There are 11.6mm dynamic drivers on each earbud. The Nothing ear (1) supports Bluetooth 5.2 with SBC and AAC codecs for better connectivity, but no aptX.
Strangely enough for semi-premium earbuds, the ear (1) has no support for in-ear detection. So, playing and pausing tracks will have to be done manually by double-tapping on one earbud.
Wireless charging and active noise cancelling are also on board and the latter, along with other features like EQ, can be adjusted via the companion app that’s available on both iOS and Android.
Coming to the battery backup, the Nothing ear (1) can last up to 4 hours of continuous playback with ANC enabled and 5.7 hours without it. When combined with the charging case, the figure can go up to 34 hours of total playtime.
