Ola Electric scooter launched in two variants
The much-awaited and stylish Ola Electric scooter has been launched in India in two variants – S1 and S1 Pro. Deliveries of this eclectic vehicle (EV) will begin in October.
The Ola S1 is priced at Rs 99,999 and the Ola S1 Pro price stands at Rs 1,29,999. These are ex-showroom prices including the FAME II subsidy.
However, many states also offer additional subsidies on EVs. For instance, the Ola S1 will cost as low as Rs 85,099 in Delhi when both FAME II and state subsidy benefits are combined!
The S1 features a 2.98kWh battery pack thanks to which it has an ARAi-certified range of 121km. The S1 Pro has a 3.97kWh pack which provides a superior range of 181km. The batteries on both variants are non-removable.
Ola provides a portable home charger which this scooter. With it, the S1 can charge fully in 4.48 hours and the S1 Pro in 6.30 hours. The proposed Ola Hypercharger network, that’s a work in progress, is soon claimed to have 1 lakh locations across 400 cities.
Supplying power to the 2021 Ola Electric scooter is a ‘Hyperdrive motor’ that generates a peak power of 8.5kW (~11.39bhp) and an impressive 58Nm of torque. That’s quite some power for an electric scooter thanks to which the S1 has a top speed of 90km/h while the S1 Pro manages an impressive 115km/h.
There are riding modes on the Ola Electric scooter as well. The S1 gets Normal and Sports modes, while the S1 Pro features an additional Hyper mode.
The TFT display on this e-scooter displays navigation as well. You can also toggle between rider profiles from here. The scooter also starts up as you approach it and it can emit a customisable fake sound as well.
