Realme Android Pie update to begin in June
- Oppo’s sub-brand Realme has confirmed that the ColorOS 6.0 update, which will be based on Android 9.0 Pie, will start rolling out in June 2019.
- The ColorOS 6.0 was announced in November last year and it features a new look with white and gradient colour backgrounds. Also embedded in the software is AI-powered capabilities which help saving power, optimised memory.
- The phones include the company’s entire lineup – Realme 1, Realme 2, Realme 2 Pro, Realme C1 and Realme U1. The recently launched Realme 3 already runs on the latest Android software.
- It must be noted that the company has not given any timeline or the order in which the OTA updates will roll out.
- Realme’s chief rivals are Xiaomi’s Redmi phones, most of which either already run on Android Pie or are in the process of getting the update.
