Redmi 8 launched at Rs 7,999
- The new Xiaomi Redmi 8 budget smartphone has been launched in India at Rs 7,999-8,999 depending on the variant chosen. The first sale of this phone will take place on October 12 via Flipkart, Mi.com, and Mi Home Stores.
- The phone has a notched 6.22-inch HD+ IPS LCD display. Backing it up is a large 5,000mAh with 18W fast charging support, though the box only includes a 10W adapter.
- For optics, the Redmi 8 uses a new dual-camera setup which includes a 12MP f/1.8 primary module with Sony IMX363 sensor. Accompanying it is a 2MP depth sensing unit.
- There’s a downgrade here in terms of processing power. The Redmi 8 uses a Snapdragon 439 chipset as opposed to the Redmi 7’s Snapdragon 632. Storage variants here include 3GB/ 32GB and 4GB/ 64GB.
- Other standard features on this phone include wireless FM radio, P2i splash protection, 3.5 mm headphone jack and IR blaster.
