Samsung Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ revealed
Alongside the over spec’d Galaxy S20 Ultra, the Galaxy S20 and S20+ have also gone official. The former starts at USD 999, while the latter will set you back by USD 1,199.
Galaxy S20+
- The S20+ uses a large 6.7-inch Infinity-O AMOLED display with 120 Hz refresh rate at FHD+. It is backed up by a 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging.
- The primary camera on this smartphone is a new 12MP sensor with large 1.8µm pixels, OIS, and an aperture of f/1.8. Then, there’s a 12MP, 120-degree FoV ultra-wide-angle camera, a depth sensor, and a 10MP front selfie shooter.
- The telephoto camera here, surprisingly, is very high-res at 64MP (even higher than the S20 Ultra). However, it does not have the 100x magic of the Ultra model, and max zoom is capped at 30x.
- This 64MP camera can also record videos at 8K resolution, but at 33MP resolution instead.
- On the processor front, the entire S20 series uses two SoCs depending on the region – India will get the Exynos 990, while the US-spec version gets the Snapdragon 865. On the RAM front, you get to choose between 8GB/ 12GB. The ROM option is only 128GB, but it’s expandable.
- Just like the Ultra model, the headphone jack has been killed off on the S20+ and S20.
Galaxy S20
- The standard Samsung Galaxy S20 is now the (rather expensive) entry point to the S20 series as the ‘e’ model from last year is no longer available.
- This phone remains largely similar to the S20+, however, it uses a smaller 6.2-inch display (of same resolution and refresh rate) and a 4,000mAh battery.
- The cameras are exactly the same too, but the depth sensor is missing here, which should not bother many people.
