Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 introduced with larger displays
- While its detailed announcement is reserved for September 1, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 2 foldable smartphone has been partially introduced by Samsung.
- A direct successor to the Galaxy Fold from 2019, the Z Fold 2’s external display – at 6.2-inches – is now much larger than the former’s. Also, the internal folding display has been bumped from 7.3-inch to 7.6-inch, and it incorporates Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) like the Z Flip.
- Both displays are AMOLED, but the internal folding screen now incorporates the ultra-smooth 120 Hz refresh rate. Also, both displays have hole punches to accommodate the selfie cameras.
- The hinge of this foldable smartphone borrows its “Flex Mode” idea from the Galaxy Z Flip, and therefore, users will now be able to partially open it at multiple angles.
- At the back, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 has 3 cameras – main, ultra-wide and telephoto, all of 12MP resolution. Then, both front cameras have 10MP sensors.
- Jut like the Note 10 Ultra, the Z Fold 2 has a 4,500mAh battery which charges at 25W over USB-C. Also standard is 11W wireless charging as well as reverse wireless charging.
