Skoda Kodiaq facelift spied undisguised in India
The Skoda Kodiaq was discontinued in India after the BS6 emission norms came into action last year. This was because the engine that powered this SUV, Volkswagen Group’s 2.0-litre TDI, was axed after the BS4 era.
Skoda showcased the updated petrol-powered Kodiaq at the 2020 Auto Expo which was powered by the 190hp 2.0-litre TSI engine that’s found on a number of Volkswagen Group cars in India including the Skoda Octavia, Skoda Superb, VW Tiguan AllSpace, and Audi A4.
However, its launch was delayed due to the ongoing pandemic, and in the meantime, the facelifted Kodiaq debuted internationally. Now, it seems like this SUV will soon return to India in its latest avatar as it has been spied completely undisguised.
The video below gives us a complete look at the 2021 Kodiaq facelift, which is spied in the Sportline variant. So, just like the Superb, even the Kodiaq is expected to be offered in versions – one luxury-centric and one sporty.
The changes on the facelifted model are quite subtle. But new additions such as a larger grille and reprofiled bumpers will not go unnoticed. The Sportline variant will further differentiate itself with blacked-out elements.
The 2021 Skoda Kodiaq facelift launch in India will likely take place by end-2021 and it will likely be priced between Rs 36-40 lakh ex-showroom.
