Skoda Kushaq launch on June 28
Skoda’s rival to the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and Renault Duster will launch in India on July 28.
The Skoda Kushaq is the first product to be built upon VW-Skoda’s designed and engineered for India MQB-A0-IN platform. It will also have a platform sibling in the form of the Volkswagen Tiguan which will launch later this year.
Powering the Skoda Kushaq will be two petrol engines. Interestingly, there will be no diesel option on offer. Anyway, the petrol engines include a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder unit that pumps out 110hp/175Nm, and a more powerful 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder unit with 150hp/250Nm.
Even though it is designed for India, the Kushaq will have an interior that’s in line with Skoda’s international lineup. The cabin will have a minimalist layout with a floating infotainment screen and a 2-spoke steering.
The B-SUV will be offered in 3 variants which include Active, Ambition and Style. A range-topping Monte Carlo trim could be launched later.
