Skoda Kushaq production begins; launch soon
The upcoming Creta-challenging Skoda Kushaq is confirmed to launch in India later this month. After a few hiccups due to the ongoing pandemic, the production of the SUV has finally started in the country.
With a heavy localisation of up to 92 per cent, the Kushaq is the first vehicle to launch under VW-Skoda’s new made for India MQB A0-IN platform. It is expected to be priced between Rs 10-17 lakh.
The Skoda Kushaq will be powered by two turbo petrol engines. The first one is a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder unit that makes 110hp/175Nm, while the second one is a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder unit with 150hp/250Nm. The latter will be the most powerful petrol unit on any B-SUV in India.
To be offered in 3 variants – Active, Ambition and Style – the Kushaq is expected to come loaded with features like ventilated front seats, sunroof, wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, etc. to take on its fierce Korean rivals.
