Skoda Rapid Matte Edition launched in India
The new limited-run Skoda Rapid Matte Edition has been launched in India as the last hurrah to the ageing sedan which will be replaced by the MQB A0 IN-based Skoda Slavia next year.
Only 400 units will be built and sold.

The manual version costs Rs 11.99 lakh, while the automatic version will set you back by Rs 13.49 lakh, both ex-showroom.
Skoda Rapid Matte Edition features
The Matte Edition comes in a distinctive carbon steel matte grey tone, which is accented by gloss black trimmings all around. Gloss black has been applied to the front grille, front bumper lip spoiler, door handles, side body moulding, rear diffuser, tailgate spoiler, and trunk lip garnish.
Although the alloy design is identical to the standard version, they also come wrapped in gloss black. The Matte Edition is just the second mass-market car, following the Kia Seltos X-Line, to come standard with a matte colour option.
The Matte Edition also has a new dual-tone Tellur Grey interior with black leatherette upholstery and Alcantara inlays on the inside. This model also comes with high-visibility performance lights that are only available in this edition.
Aside from that, the car’s equipment list stays the same. An 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a rear-view parking camera, automatic headlights and wipers, cruise control, auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror, twin airbags, ABS, rear parking sensors, and other features are included.
Skoda Rapid Matte Edition engine & gearbox
Mechanically, the Matte Edition is identical to the base Rapid sedan, with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI turbo-petrol engine producing 110hp and 172Nm. The Matte Edition is available with both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
