Skoda Slavia: 1.0 TSI prices out
The Skoda Slavia sedan has been launched in India, well, sort of. The Czech automaker announced today only the prices for the 1.0 TSI-powered models, which start at Rs 10.69 lakh and go up to Rs 15.39 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the top-spec model.
On March 3, prices for the more powerful 1.5 TSI version will be announced. Skoda has also announced the start of test drives and delivery of the Slavia 1.0 TSI.
The Slavia 1.0 TSI comes in three trim levels: Active, Ambition, and Style.
1.0 MT | 1.0 AT | |
Active | 10.69 lakh | – |
Ambition | 12.39 lakh | 13.59 lakh |
Style | 13.59 lakh | – |
Style (with sunroof) | 13.99 lakh | 15.29 lakh |
The cabin of the Slavia is quite tidy and upmarket, thanks to the layered dashboard, free-standing 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, and dual-tone beige and black interior theme, all of which are standard on the top-spec version.
Additionally, the fully equipped Style trim level includes connected car technology like wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay support, automated climate control, ventilated front seats, leatherette upholstery, a sunroof, a wireless charger, rear AC vents, and a rear centre armrest.
Additionally, it includes a slew of safety features, including six airbags, an electronic stability control (ESC), an electronic differential system (EDS), and a tyre pressure monitor.
Skoda has disclosed only the prices for the entry-level engine — the 115hp, 175Nm, 1.0-litre, three-cylinder TSI engine mated to either a six-speed manual or a torque converter automatic transmission.
The manual 1.0 TSI engine achieves an ARAI mileage rating of 19.47 km/l, while the automatic version achieves an ARAI mileage rating of 18.07 km/l.
In comparison, the 121hp, 145Nm, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine in the latest generation Honda City achieves a stated fuel economy of 17.8 km/l when equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission and 18.4 km/l when equipped with the CVT automatic transmission.
The other, more powerful engine set to join the Skoda Slavia range in the near future is the 150hp, 1.5-litre, four-cylinder TSI engine available with either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DCT automated transmission.
