Snapdragon 888 Plus SoC announced
Even though there isn’t a very big number of Snapdragon 888-powered phones out there, San Diego-based chipset giant Qualcomm is all set with the flagship chip’s incremental update as the Snapdragon 888 Plus has been announced at MWC 2021.
Structurally, it remains the same as the standard 888, albeit the prime core’s clock speed is now boosted up to 3GHz (2.995GHz to be very precise).
Also, the improved AI processor is now claimed to deliver 32 TOPS (Tera Operations Per Second) which is a 20 percent increase over the non-Plus version.
If you are eager to try out the Snapdragon 888 Plus, then you should know that Asus, Honor, Motorola, Xiaomi, and Vivo will have it in one of their upper-end phones from the third quarter of this year.
However, if you already own a standard 888-powered smartphone, then you shouldn’t worry much as this is just Qualcomm gearing up to take on the upcoming A15 Bionic (or whatever Apple calls it) in September.
