Sony WF-SP800N, WF-XB700 truly wireless earbuds launched in India
Sony WF-SP800N
- The WF-SP800N is Sony’s premium sports-focused truly wireless earbuds which is priced at Rs 18,990 in India.
- The highlight feature of these earbuds is its active noise cancellation (ANC), in contrast, the Bose SoundSport Free, which retails at the same price, lacks this feature.
- Battery life of these Sony earbuds with ANC on is quite impressive at 9 hours per earbud, and it can be extended to 18 hours when the case’s battery is taken into the equation. You also get quick charging that provides an hour of use with 10 minutes of charging over USB-C.
- WF-SP800N also supports customisation via the Sony Headphones Connect companion app. Then, you get voice assistant support.
- Finally, since these are sports-focused earphones, IP55 water and dust resistance comes standard. However, high-res Bluetooth codecs are absent, only SBC and AAC codecs are supported.
Sony WF-XB700
- The XB700, which is a part of Sony’s Extra Bass series, is much more affordable at Rs 9,999.
- These buds also have a combined battery life of 18 hours, but ANC is not present here.
- The Sony WF-XB700 earbuds do not have gesture controls, instead, there are tiny physical buttons that allow you to play, stop, or skip tracks and adjust the volume.
- Just like the SP800Ns, the XB700s also lack support for high-res Bluetooth codecs and you only get support for SBC and ACC.
