TicWatch GTH smartwatch launched in India
Chinese smartwatch maker Mobvoi has launched its entry-level TicWatch GTH in India. It is listed on Amazon for Rs 4,799.
Interestingly, Mobvoi claims that the SpO2 sensor on the TicWatch GTH uses photoplethysmography (PPG) technology. The company claims to be working with Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) to use the data collected by the smartwatch’s sensors to predict early signs of COVID-19.
When compared to the more premium TicWatch offerings, the GTS drops WearOS in favour of the proprietary RTOS, which most likely means no external apps here.
The TicWatch GTH has a square 1.55-inch TFT touchscreen with a resolution of 360×320 pixels. It packs a 260mAh battery for a claimed battery life of up to 10 days.
Featuring 5ATM water resistance, the GTH has sports modes – Outdoor Run, Indoor Run, Outdoor cycling, Indoor cycling, Rope Skipping, Swimming, Walking, Rowing, Freestyle, Gymnastics, Soccer, Basketball, Yoga, and Mountain Climbing.
