VW Passat facelift spied in India
- The VW Passat has been unavailable to buy in India since quite some time, even though the company never discontinued it. Now, the Passat facelift has been spied in India with no disguise whatsoever, hinting at its imminent launch.
- The Passat facelift was globally revealed earlier this year and it features cosmetic enhancements in crucial areas such as bumpers, grille, headlights and tail lamps.
- On the inside, the D+ sedan gets a new infotainment system with online connectivity, unit new colour driver’s display, capacitive steering wheel, etc. Also, selected smartphones can be used as the mobile key to open or start the car. However, it’s not certain if all these features will make it on the India-spec model.
- Since the Passat facelift will be BS6-compliant, it will most likely use an updated version of the 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine. However, the introduction of the new 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine cannot be completely ruled out either.
- Upon launch, this Skoda Superb rival will cost around Rs 32-35 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.
