Xiaomi EV Inc registered; get ready for Xiaomi cars and bikes

A new division called Xiaomi EV Inc has been registered in China with a registered capital of CNY 10 billion, as per an official statement by the company.
This should not surprise many, as Xiaomi officially revealed in March this year its plans to enter the electric vehicle (EV) segment.
Xiaomi EV Inc claims to have already hired 300 employees and it will continue to search for more talent. Very recently, the Chinese multinational also purchased autonomous driving technology startup Deepmotion for around USD 77 million.
What kind of vehicle will Xiaomi EV Inc debut with is not very clear as of now. However, if the company expands at the same rate it did in the smartphone sector, then established automakers do have a lot to worry about!
